Though there is no direct English translation the American slang word "excellent" comes pretty close. Co-workers don't know whether he was talking about the synth, or the Triple Play Yoshi "Okii chimpo" Nakamura hit for the Nippon "Ham Fighters" when they played the Hiroshima "Carp" in 1982. Other workers suggest his comment was in response to a co-workers suggestion that they go visit the soaplands after work. Whatever the true story may be the CS-01 is a "friendly fun synth to make happy time for all" (re-print from original sales brochure) The Yamaha CS-01 is a small monophonic analog synth made out of black plastic with sporty green lettering. It's tiny 2 and a half octave plastic keyboard can best be described as encompassing a hazy middle ground between the Bosendorfer Grand Piano and the Casio Portatone. Its sound is somewhere between the Moog Sys 55 and the very desirable Lion King Piano. Its best used for getting those ever elusive video game type sounds. (The CS-01 has a full frequency 2" speaker built right in!). But wait! There's more!! The CS-01 only weighs a few pounds and is roughly the size of a small Chihuahua, a dozen eggs or Casio SK-1. Throw it in your rave pack and your ready to squawk, bleep, boing and boom your way to techno stardom. Specs?? We got specs...and Dick Vital is gonna tell 'em to ya........ "Specs Baby!
