More dribbling new stuff from the Waldorf mailing list...... Cheers, Dave ..... ----- Begin Included Message ----- Waldorf Pulse : The Fat Attack >From the heart of Germany, for your high-cal synthesis stew. No more digital diets, the real thing instead of simulated ingredients. 3 heavy-weight oscillators with creamy pulse width modulation, Sumo-style sync and tasty cross-modulation, topped-off with a healthy serving of 24dB filtering, will satisfy your appetite and get those creative juices flowing. And a side order of 2 envelopes, 2 LFOs, and for added flavour a spice rack full of modulations, rounds out this aural feast. Say goodbye to lean cuisine and experience the fat attack of the Waldorf Pulse!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- The Waldorf Pulse, a monophonic analog synthesizer in a 19" chassis that fits into two rack spaces. Its user interface features four keys, six rotary knobs and a 3 x 7 segment display. MIDI In/Out/Thru and stereo output jacks link the Pulse to other devices. The Waldorf Pulse features 3 analog oscillators, each of which deliver square, triangular and saw-tooth waveforms. You can modulate the square waves' pulse widths separately for each oscillator, as well as synchronise and cross-modulate oscillators. An integrated mixer is available for the 3 oscillators and the noise generator. The master signal can be overdriven and sent through the post-mixer low-pass filter. The filter has a 24dB/octave slope; it is actually a cascade filter. A stereo VCA featuring full panning modulation is also integrated in the signal chain just prior to the stereo-outs. 2 ADSR envelopes and 2 LFOs are available for modulating components. LFO1 features sine, triangular, saw-tooth, square and sample + hold waveforms. LFO2 is a fixed triangular waveform. The Pulse is also equipped with permanent and legato portamento. 4 modes are available for envelope triggering. Modulations from 16 sources can be assigned to 16 internal targets via the 4-entry modulation matrix. In addition, you can manipulate every parameter via MIDI controllers and send stored sounds via SysEx messages. The final number of memory locations is not certain as yet, but you will be able to select at least 64 sounds in the Pulse. How about an arpeggiator? You've got it, and what's more it can be synchronised internally as well as to a MIDI clock. This is just the kind of ingredient that adds spice to your synthesis recipe.
