I actually made a splitter box with supplies from Rat Shack and it works great. Since Roland Sync is an analog pulse of 24 pulses per quarter note, splitting does not degrade the signal. My box has 6 5pin jacks and I just wired them straight and BINGO! 1 in and 5 out splitter box. I did not build any circuitry to block the signal if it happened to be going backwards, so if more than one instrument is set to sync out then the timing gets all screwed up. I use an SBX-10 and prefer it over the MSQ-700. The problem with the MSQ's for sync is that you have to manually press reset everytime you stop the sequence so that it's starts on the proper beat. The SBX properly converts MIDI Start/Stop/Continue messages for smooth and invisible use. You just turn it on, set it to recieve MIDI and away you go...
