It would take MIDI data from any 1 of the 16 channels and convert it into CV + GATE + DYNAMICS and there were four controller outs, which I can't remember off the top of my head. You could put it in 1,2,3,or 4 voice mode, and there were 3 different 'assignment' patterns, such as random, sequence, etc... There was also a hold mode button and a 'clear' button for killing stuck notes. I've just starting using this box with a Roland SH09, and its very impressive indeed! I never thought I'd see CV in my MIDI studio! > Another stupid question, I'm afraid...;) No such thing! > Thanx! | Derek Jeter == djeter@cs.utk.edu == http://www.cs.utk.edu/~djeter/ | | Computer Science Department, University of Tennessee, Knoxville | From mpulver@netcom.comThu Apr 13 11:03:21 1995 Date: Thu, 13 Apr 95 10:24:36 PDT From: mpulver@netcom.com To: Jasper de Jong Cc: analogue@hyperreal.com Subject: Re: CV Problems & Questions On Thu, 13 Apr 1995 02:19:06 -0400 (EDT) Derek Christopher Jeter wrote: >On 12 Apr 1995, Jasper de Jong wrote: > >> >> What exactely is a MPU-101? > > It's Roland's OLD (only?) The additional controller infor, like Pitchbend, Aftertouch and Veloctity are *ONLY* available on the first channel of the -101. i.e. If you have two CV synths that you want to control, then PB, AFT, VEL will only be available to one of them. ---- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Pulver/Chicago, IL analog analog analog and umm, analog mpulver@netcom.com Voyetra 8, Xpander, P5, MKS-70, 2600, stuff Date: Mon, 21 Sep 1998 09:20:24 -0500 From: Mark Pulver To: Jason Butcher Cc: analogue@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: MPU-101 info needed Jason Butcher (04:00 AM 9/21/98) wrote: >I found this on a music machines page and really want to know if this is >trueand if so what the correct procedure is. > >About the MPU-101: >>A cool feature is, (I remember seeing this in the 101 manual, gently >>correct me if I'm wrong) if you power up holding certain keys, you can >>use it as a CV->MIDI converter. There's a message in November of 1997 that comes from Tony Karavidas (Encore Electronics): [snipped the quoted message] Unfortunately, no way. I just looked at the schematics and there is nothing that would allow the 101 to receive a CV and output MIDI. -- Tony Karavidas Encore Electronics http://www.encoreelectronics.com _________________________________________________________________________ Mark Pulver - Home of the "MIDI 2nd Bedroom Featuring the Modular Closet" http://www.midiwall.com - Nord Mod: http://www.midiwall.com/nordmodular
