The Ob-sx was based on OBX-a technology, 4 octave 56 patch programs ( read PRESET ), black casing with blue lines, Oberheim levers, Spilt and Double capabilities, some editing of voices available via front panel ( filter freq, resonance, EG, LFO speed etc ).Oberheim's usual 'System Interface' ( 32 pin 'D' type connector - cable wired straight through pin1 - pin1 ) for connection to DSX sequencer etc. Voices - unsurpassed patch quality for a preset machine - usual brilliant Oberheim sounds - build quality out-of-this world ( I love Obie stuff! ), same voice boards as OB-Xa. Ability to defeat non-tunable voices ( i.e faulty ) automatically! Check one thing - my OB-Sx had 5 voices instead of six, when autotuning - the untunable voice number will flash - in my case voice 6 ( it can't tune a voice it can't find! ), Oberheim released this model with a differing number of voices - a 4 voice model, a 6 voice model ( an 8 voice? ). You need to set the internal voice kill switches to match the number of voices you have installed. Clive
