A nice unit. >2)can someone tell me any important details to watch out for when buying >one? In my limited exp. with them (I've owned only one), the pitch ribbon is the most likely thing to wear out. The one I had had some spots where the plastic cover had worn through. I was able to buy a replacement part from Moog, but that was circa 1981 or 1982, I'd guess. I don't know whether they're still available. Apart from that, just beware of the usual things like dirty pots and switches, gunky keyboard contacts, etc. >3) can the micromoog process external inputs like the minimoog? The Micro's patchability exceeds that of the Mini. At least of the Mini I have (#2486). Yes, it has an audio input to the filter. It also has modulation send and return, S-trig in and out, and a DC power connector for low-current outboard gear (most likely a CV pedal, I would think). I can't recall for sure, but I think it has filter and oscillator CV ins (I don't recall an amp. CV in, though). --- msged 2.07 -- uucp: uunet!m2xenix!dawggon!48!Jim.Long Internet: Jim.Long@f48.n105.z1.fidonet.org From fEEd@maroon.tc.umn.edu Mon Jan 23 10:22:11 1995 Date: Sat, 21 Jan 95 18:17:29 CST From: fEEd To: analogue@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu Subject: Re: micromoog questions and search On Sun, 22 Jan 1995 01:24:12 -0800, Paris Treantafeles wrote: >I don't want to part with mine, but I Highly recommend these units. I have never been able to use the MODULATIOn out jack becaus eit is a 3/16" jack. I am just to lazy to rig something for it. Why the hell did they do that anyway? i would love to be able to use its LFO on other stuff and also run other cvs into the MODULATION since the jack is both an in and out at the same time. The filter of the micromoog is one of my faves. It oscillates wonderfully and when you put strong MOD on it from the OSC, look out! ;> This synth replaced the cs15 as my favorite (and most under rated) mono. Forget the pro-one!
