The instrument (audio out) cable actually comes out of the power supply and there is only one cord coming out of the instrument itself, the XLR-type multipin deal that connects it to the power supply. This is where you probably got the ideal that there was no multipin connector, as you may have thought it was the audio out. The power supply does not really have any controls on it, so it was probably hidden somewhere unobtrusive. I have heard a lot of Liberation-bashing, but I will stand up for it and say it is a pretty killer monosynth. You can get some extremely fat sounds, especially bass, out of it. There is a 5 slider mixer that has sliders for 2 VCOs, rind mod, noise, and poly. Crank them all up and you have got some serious sound. The best feature, though, is the sort of built in "whammy-bar" under the keys that can be routed to pitch or modulation. Play the keys and you get a sound, but push them a little harder and you get crazy freak-out noises. I think this was standard, but am not sure--mine was a factory custom job for Tom Coster and has several mods (the most noticeable being a pitch wheel instead of ribbon controller) and includes a spiffy Carolina blue and yellow paint job. It is a pretty heavy chunk of machinery, though. So, whoever posted this in the first place, hunt one down if you liked it. I have seen them for around $700. I paid $800 for mine a year ago with a custom ATA flightcase with furry interior. They get bashed a lot because they are tacky and new-wave looking, but it sounds like this was a plus by your standards. I know it is by mine, and this lack of popularity keeps the price down. I think it sounds killer and, although I would not trade a Minimoog for one, I would recommend it highly as a nice performance-style monosynth with huge sounds. I have to admit that I don't play it as much as some other monosynths, simply because I do everything in my home studio and it is kinda clumsy to play in a small room, but it would do very well as a live instrument. Hey, isn't that what it was intended for in the first place? Mike Kent wrote: > >I saw a band last weekend that had a guy playing a strap-on Moog synth.
