On the EA-1 (synth), you can record just one knob movement per part per pattern. Then in Song mode, you have another "live" recording of knob movements, which allows you to grab any knob/button at all, in any order. Kinda like a live mix recording. Any tweaking that you can do in real time is recorded. No, you can't edit this, but you can re-record sections - you don't have to record the whole song in one pass. So it is actually more versatile than the review implied. You can do some pretty crazy stuff here, and record it all. On the ER-1 (drums), again you can record one knob movement per part per pattern. As there are 8 drum parts, all 8 can have some kind of movement in every pattern. Once again, you can do some pretty crazy stuff here. I like the sound of both of them. They do different things than anything else I've played with, and they're incredibly easy to mess with. Oh, and another thing... they're actually fun to play with! All the best, jg::
