But yeah, definitely the mute buttons are snip The Kawaii Q80 can do this and has 36 tracks (as opposed to the MMT8's 8). Mute buttons in banks of 8 (ie: 8 buttons total and one toswitch from bank a-d). Teh Q80 also has a disk drive, step time entry, ect etc. The MMT8 is superior for writing pattern based songs IMO (the MMT8 is linear and 'song" based like most onboard sequncers) but if all you want to do is make some patterns and mute/unmute them live the q80 is a lot more flexible and holds a ton more patterns than an MMT8. It also doesn't suffer from the button problems all MMT8s eventually get. i've be rediscovering my Q80 ever since i got a Drumstation. I have 8 patterns for standard drum parts (Bass, Sanre, hats, etc), 8 patterns for various basslines (I play one and mute all the others and then change 'em), and still have 16 patterns left for leads, noises, other rhythm tracks, etc. Right now I'm working on something with three sets of highhats and a 909 and 808 bass drum , 3 toms, 3congas, 3 cymbals, etc. the Drumstation would run out of polyphony at half that but with all the muting and such i can run this "pattern" for 5+ mionutes and never repeat the same combinations, etc. add to that loops from my mirage, and analog tweakable bass lines and you've got a pretty powerful and flexible portable rig than lays a stromy foundation for other stuff over the top. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HELP WANTED PRODUCTIONS - Http://www.voicenet.com/~legion "Bringing you the best in Organic Electronic music since we started..."
