The ENSONIQ MIRAGE is an 8-bit eight-voice velocity-sensitive digital sampling keyboard (highest sample rate 29.4 Khz) combining the complexity and accuracy of digital sounds with an analog synthesizer section which provides programmable controll over filtering, envelopes and modulation. Each voice is made up of two digital "oscillators", one LFO, a mixer and DCA, a 4 pole resonant VCF, and two EGs (APDSR). The LFO feeds both "DCOs", then filter, one EG for the VCF, one for the DCA. You can mix two different wavesamples per voice (MIX mode), or play the same wavesamples for a chorusing effect (CHORUS mode, DCO2 detune). Mixing of the two DCOs can be controlled by keyboard velocity or by the MOD wheel, and both EGs can be individually set for velocity sensitivity; the peak and sustain levels are independantly velocity sensative, the attack time can decrease with higher velocity, the decay time can decay with keyboard position and the release time can be affected by how fast you lift up a key. -paraphrased from the MIRAGE MASOS manual NEW SIGNAL John-
