It is not sure if we will have a "record" function. We will see. It is planned that you set up a pattern step-by-step but in an easy manner: The 8 program select buttons on the lower right act as step on/off and "step set" buttons. Press and hold one of these and play a note or a chord. Voila, the step is set. Toggling this step on and off is done by pressing this button shortly. Afterwards you can change the velocity and gate length of this step (or beforehand) and add controller to change various aspects of the sound. That's all. For sure, we will add lots of "realtime" features like different play modes (forward, backward, alternating, cascaded (see PPG manual), random etc.), transposing etc. etc. Step length (per step) is also on the list but we didn't decide if we implement it. I'd like to have it but it makes it more difficult to use. A global clock divider will be there, for sure. Ah, I forgot one very nice feature: the step sequencer is routed *before* the arpeggiator, which means that you can play a chord into the step sequencer which is broken up by the arpeggiator as long as no other notes come from the sequencer.
