I talked to my Roland dealer (tech) and he checked his books (seems like everyone had a bit of the truth): For serial numbers 872900 and up: Sanyo N-SB3 3.6V (which has cheap equivalents) For serial numbers 872899 and down: Use a 4N-100A which is 5.6V I don't know about the equivalents for the latter (help?). He also told me he had the plans to modify the earlier CR-78's so that they could use the N-SB3 battery (not a very cheap alternative). Since mine is of the first batch, I am now looking for the 4N-100A. I called a electronics shop (not R-S) and they've never heard of it! I suspect this is a Roland battery. I am now looking for the Roland page where I could order it or an alternative. Any help would be appreciated! JS Brien
