Some interesting tidbits. 1. The sucker is exponential -- frequency a linear function of voltage, as opposed to 1V/Octave. This brings up point two. 2. It has two CVs (pitch and velocity) and Gate out, but given point one, this isn't very useful for hooking up anything besides old Korgs and Yamahas. Given that, anyone got a simple, cheap, accurate convertor circuit that would take this exponential CV to linear? (Yeah, right!). 3. They don't give you CV/Gate IN, though if the analog section uses it it shouldn't be too hard to hack it in. The also have a "Coming Soon" section on the back: "A new 8 output MIDI/CV card. Each output can be either a Control Voltage, Gate or "S" trigger, and cards can provide either exponential CV's or linear. There are numerous DIP switch selectable modes ..." Hmmm. I guess I shoulda built that gnome back in high school... -- Kent Williams kent@cadsi.com "Swirling a sound [in Quadrophonic Space] at an audio rate produces interesting spatial and modulative effects" -- Serge Modular Product Spec Sheet.
