WSEdit KORG Wavestation series Windows Editor Release 1.C June 1996 WSEdit is a graphical editor for the Korg Wavestation family of synthesizers. It runs under Window 3.X and Windows 95, and it is packed with useful features: sounds and effects editing, wavesequences editing, among others. WSEdit supports all Wavestation models (base, EX, A/D and SR). It needs to be connected to a Wavestation via a MIDI interface installed on your computer. However, a sample WSEdit data file is included in the package to let you run WSEdit in offline mode and see how it works. Package and Installation ------------------------ WSEdit is distributed as a self extracting archive, WSEDIT1B.EXE, accompanied by this text file. The archive contains the following files: WSEDIT.EXE The executable file! WSEDIT.HLP WSEdit help file (for Windows Help) WSEDIT.TXT This file BUG_FORM.TXT Bug Report form REG_FORM.TXT Registration form CALLBACK.DLL MIDI low-level callbacks CTL3DV2.DLL 3D controls DLL SV_SPIN.VBX Spin custom control SV_KNOB.VBX Knob custom control SV_GRID.VBX Grid custom control SV_GLYPH.VBX Glyph custom control SV_GBTN.VBX Graphic Button custom contrl AD.WSE WSEdit data file (Wavestation A/D setup) In order to install WSEdit, follow these steps: 1. Create a directory for WSEdit 2. Move to that directory 3. Launch _WSEDIT.EXE from within that directory. The files are expanded and checked. 4. Move all VBX files in your Windows system directory (usually C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM). Since they are named SV_*.VBX, it is really unlikely they will overwrite existing files. Anyway, please check for any file having the same name of the control before proceeding. NOTE: if you already installed WSEdit, please copy these files over the existing ones, since some improvements may have been done on custom controls! 5. Add WSEdit to your favorite programs group. 6. Launch it! WSEdit is Shareware ------------------- Remember that WSEdit is *NOT* a freeware, but a shareware. As such, you are gently asked to support the author with a (very) limited amount of money - which indeed will be used to buy new tools for developing new useful and exciting musical applications! Since I am a trusty person, WSEdit does not need registration to be used at its full. You can thus edit, save, load, transfer data to and from your WS at your pleasure. If you don't like it, just don't use it, but feel free to distribute it to other Wavestationers. The "limited amount of money" has been fixed in 35 (thirty-five) US$ (well, if you are a big studio, this would be 35 zillion dollars...). If you register, you are entitled to receive upgrades and bug-fixes when they become available. This will happen free of charge except, of course, shipping (if any). At the same time you'll feel proud of helping a volunteer devoted to the music cause, the one who wrote this (hopefully) useful program. So, if you love your 1500$ instrument, with just 35$ you'll love it much more! See the help file for further details. Bugs Report ----------- I'll appreciate any comment about WSEdit, its interface and its problems. Also, if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to contact me, since much probably they will fit in the next release of WSEdit. You can send them, as well as bug reports (use the included form) to my home address or via email. See the help file for address details. ------------- Enjoy WSEdit! -------------
