I was checking out bandwidth performance on the scope for the SDD-1200/2000/3300 and I noticed some "flaws". On my Korg SDD-3300, the LFO intensity is *not* attenuated with a VCA, it's software attenuation. IOW, a smooth waveform at full intensity (31) becomes very discrete at low intensity values (especially below 10). The firmware just feeds lower dv/dt to the DAC, resulting in a very coarse stepped sine wave with the peaks flat for almost 1/4 of the cycle, which means that the sweep isn't continuous. It was very obvious on the scope, watching the delayed signal being modulated in discrete rather than continuous motion. I found that it's safe using intensity values equal to or greater than 20. Hard to call this a "flaw", 'cause in my attempts to duplicate a couple of gorgeous sounding SDD-3300 stereo patches on the SDD-1200, the "flawed" 3300 still sounded superior. This is contrary to the 3300's smaller brother the SDD-2000, which is smooth modulation at any intensity. However on my unit, there's still some bleedthrough at zero intensity, but it could be minimized with LFO frequency set to zero. I also found out last night why some buttons on the 2000 don't work; there's residue from a spilled drink on the buttons, the board, and the metal frame. I got the buttons partially disassembled and found the rubber button/carbon contact a'la Memorymoog/Poly-6 keyboard contacts. Disassembly of these buttons is a bitch, you have to unsolder and remove the LED to get to the contact. I doubt Korg has any of these around since they built these fifteen years ago, and the SDD-3000 is the only other Korg product I've seen this button used.
