I found one: the pitch input for the mod grip. Sure, I have a mod grip, but *I* don't use it. So I just set up a nice bass sound, fired up my 202, and plugged the EXT SYNTH CV out to the pitch input on the 101. To do this trick, you NEED to have the bender set up to modulate the VCF (although if you have it set up for pitch as well, you can get a funky random bassline, especially if you use note slides.) Then, set up the VCF to mostly low amounts, and avoid using the modulator on Random (which would defeat the purpose.) Program a sequence into a sequencer, and just use notes like you're programming a song. Wire the CV out to the left Mod Grip jack. Program, say, another bassline into another sequencer (or MIDI channel, if you're using a multi-channel MIDI->CV box) and wire that up to the CV/GATE in of the 101 like any other synth. Voila! Programmable filter modulation sans retrofitting, soldering, or, god forbid, THINKING!!! Hope this helps somebody. One problem: if you're using a weak power supply, you'll be using headphones and hearing extremely buzzy sound; plug in another cable, and the lights go dim and the synth dies. Why can't Beavis and Butthead play air analog synth? Scott Koladich koladic@ibm.net scott.koladich@mgasoft.ersys. edmonton.ab.ca http://metro.turnpike.net/~koladic/ index.html
