I used to have the low-level out of my 808 plugged into it, and it worked great for triggering the oscillators in these funky, electro patterns, with distorted 808 drums in the background. Alas, since I sacrificed my 808 for Art's sake, now I just run a fx send from my mixer to it. Works great, you just have to fiddle with the input level until you find the exact spot where cool shit happens. The noise/external knob on both the Pro-1's I've owned seemed very non-linear... it's like nothing happens, nothing happens, oh my god! nothing happens, BA-BOOM!, nothing happens... Just tweak it, dood. Here's something nasty for you: Sampler out L -> Pro-1 CV in (yes CV in ,I said) Sampler out R -> Pro-1 audio in Load up your favorite beat, pan it so it comes out both outs, and *turn the pro-1 VCOs down!* Trigger the sampler, fiddle with the noise/external knob until the envelope is triggering in a pleasant way. Slowly turn up the VCOs in the pro-1 mixer... Mmmmmuuuaahhhhahahah! Evil walks among us! Run the output through a distortion pedal, and solidly kick Aphex Twin in the groin. - Gustavo
