Here's my typing excercise for the day. Tuning the Oscillators blah blah blah blah Adjustments for tuning the oscillators are located behind the access ports on the back cover as shown: scale range o 1 o o 2 o o 3 o o o o o 440 adjust octave Each oscillator has two adjustments for tuning. The Range adjustment transposes all tones equally, just as the control marked Tune on the front panel. Moving the Scale adjustment will have more effect on low tones than o;n high tones, therby changing the interval size between two keys. Adjustment is made using a small screwdriver with an insulated handle. Care must be taken to avoid touching the metal shaft of the screwdriver as this will affect the tuning. Tuning Oscillator 1 1. Turn on the Power switch to allow the instrument to warm up for 10 minutes before making adjustments. 2. Set the front panel controls as shown in fig 2 (unfortunately for you I am going to try and describe it instead) and make sure the Pitch bender wheel is in the center position. all ranges at 4 , select the third waveform from the left, turn all the mods off and the tune knobs all to center. filter all the way up, get the envelopes out of the way. All oscillators set at 5 on the mix, but switched off. 3. switch on the a-440 reference tone. 4. Switch on Oscillator-3 mixer switch. Use the Oscillator-3 frequency control to create a perfect unison with the reference tone. 5. Switch off the a-440. 6. With Osc.3 on and now tuned to 440 Hz , switch on Osc.1. Depress and hold High a- tune for near zero beating with oscillator-3 (two octaves below) by adjusting Range 1 on rear panel. Fine tune for perfect zero beating with the front panel tune control. 7. Release High A and depress and hold Low A. Adjust Scale 1 on rear panel for perfect zero beating with oscillator-3 (one octave above). 8. Return to High A and observe that adjusting Scale 1 has a slight effect on the range. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until perfect zero beating is attained at both Low and High A. Tuning the Oscillator Range Switch 1. With Oscillator 1 on, High A depressed and zero beating with Oscillator 3 (440 Hz), switch Oscillator-1 range control on front panel to the 32' position and adjust Octave on rear panel for perfect zero beat tuning. Tuning the Remaining Oscillators 1. Return Osc1 Range switch to 4' position. 2 Turn off Osc 3 using mixer volume switch. 3. Turn on Osc 1 and Osc 2 4. Depress High A and hold. Adjust Range 2 on rear panel for near unison with Osc 1. Adjust Osc2 front panel Freq. control for perfect unison. 5. Release High A; depress and hold Low A. Adjust Scale 2 on rear panel for perfect unison. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until perfect unison is attained at Low and High A. 6. Swithc off Osc 2 switch on Osc 3 and click up the osc3 control switch on front panel. 7. Set the front panel Osc 3 frequencey control to zero. 8. Depress High A and hold. Adjust Range 3 on rear panel for near unison with Osc 1. Adjust Osc3 front panel Freq control for perfect unison. 9. Release High A and depress and hold Low A. Adjust Scale3 on rear panel for perfect unison. Repeat steps 8 and 9 until perfect unison is attained at Low and High A. I will also upload this to Machines because I've never done that before.
