The following disks contain sequenced songs designed to be loaded into a MIDI
sequencer program capable of accepting MIDI File Format song files. The disks
contain either all format 1 or format 0 song files which is specified in each
disk description. Most, if not all, commercial sequencer programs are capable
of reading file in formats 1 and 0. The documentation for your sequencer will
explain this capability.  As long as your sequencer can load MIDI File Format
sequences, you will be able to load and play the songs included on the disks.
If you need a MIDI File Format song player program,  the MIDI Synth Utilities
disks do include a program capable of loading and playing these songs. Please
be aware MSE did not create the song files included on the MFFS disks.  These
were sequenced by various musicians with a variety of different computers and
programs. Format 0 songs have a single track of song data with no definitions
on the track and up to 16 MIDI channels in the track.  Format 1 songs are the
more complex of the MIDI files.  The format 1 specification supports multiple
tracks, track definitions and abilities to set tempo, meter and key signature
including tempo and meter maps. You may want to consult your sequencer manual
to determine the type of MIDI File Format song files you are able to use. The
sequences included here can provide not only excellent listening but can also
suggest many various ideas for song creation, song arrangements, and practice
for the use of features and functions included within your sequencer program.

We have had many requests for drum patterns in MIDI File Format.  Many of the
drum patterns also include the appropriate bass lines  on a separate channel.
These sequences are examples of many various song styles.   Each song file is
a short sequence which will play either drum patterns or bass and drums. Many
styles are represented including Blues, Funk, Motown, New Wave, Reggae, Rock,
Rhythm and Blues, Shuffle, Calypso, Country, Jazz Rock, Salsa, Latin, Ballads

          This disk contains 58 sequencer files in File Format number 1 or 0.

This disk contains additional drum patterns in MIDI File Format.  These songs
are examples of many various styles. Each song file is a short sequence which
will play either short 1- or 2-bar drum patterns or plays drums which have an
additional orchestration of instruments added to enhance feel of the drums.

MFFS,04 . MIDI File Format Song Files -  14 Files - 362496 Bytes Used On Disk
          This disk contains 10 sequencer files in MIDI File Format number 1.

This contains sequenced songs written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart  and include
an Allegro, Menuetto, Piano Sonata 8, Sonata 9 K.205b, the Clarinet Concerto,
and also his String Quartet Number 3 in C Major.

          This disk contains  2 sequencer files in MIDI File Format number 1.

The MIDI files included on this disk are two large and very long sequences by
Bach, the Brandenburg Concerto number 1 and number 3.

          This disk contains 27 sequencer files in MIDI File Format number 1.

This contains many songs by Johann Sebastian Bach.  Included are the Suite in
E movements 1 through 7, Invention numbers 1 through 15,  Brandeburg Concerto
number 2, Chacone, Aria, and the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

          This disk contains 13 sequencer files in MIDI File Format number 0.

Included are Franz Josef Haydn's Gypsy Rondo and Andante Cantabile, Waldstein
Sonata by Beethoven, Four Impromptus for Piano by Schubert,  Canaries written
by Jean Baptiste Lully, the Minuetto from Sonata number 2 in D Major by Bach,
and the Sonatina In F Major written by A. Beczworosky.

          This disk contains 13 sequencer files in MIDI File Format number 1.

This disk contains songs from various authors. Songs include the Blue Danube,

Chopin, the prelude to Canta 29, Concerto in D Minor, and the Violin Concerto

This disk contains  A Night On Bald Mountain by Modeste Mussorgsky and it was
developed with a view to performing the work with large amounts of polyphony.
The J.S. Bach songs included on this disk are Allemande, Courante, Minuetto 1
and 2, Sarabande, Suite 4 Allemande, Suite 4 Bourree, Suite 4 Courante, Suite
4 Gigue, Suite 4 Prelude, Suite 4 Sarabande, and Choral.

This disk contains Preludes and Fugues from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II
with 12 Preludes and 12 Fugues, and also all of the Eight Little Preludes and
Fugues.  The Eight Little Preludes and Fugues are prepared for organ with the
right-hand, left-hand, and foot pedals were each recorded on separate tracks.

different progressions are interchangeble & transposable notation is provided
