It IS the 'secret 303!' Keep in mind that the 'legato' button on the sequencer simply makes the preceding note long to overlap the next note. There's no slide if you don't have portamento on, and there is always slide if you have porta and not auto-porta. And all of this effect can be achieved just as easily using the cv/gate ins...i.e. from your computer. A very useful tool indeed. But it lacks several of the 'magical' features of the 303 (I know, you weren't comparing it *exactly*, just thought I'd clear things up). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A lot of people know this, but I have run into several 101 owners who never figured it out. This is nice for the archives anyhow... The secret to sequencing on the 101(from memory) is: Press record/load press a low note-KEEP IT HELD DOWN with the other hand press the legato button, and with the one note still held press down and hold a note in the upper register. While the second note is depressed, release the first. When playing back the sequence, make sure your AUTO PORTOMENTO switch is on and adjust port time to taste. I think adding an occasional rest also helps. Have fun.
