Does anyone else on here have on of these monsters? For those of you not familiar with it, the ms50 is the ms20\ms10 expander box (basically) that shares much of the same functionality of the ms20\ms10 with some wierd processors thrown in to boot. There is a great picture up on hyperreal, but from left to right (more or less) the box has: 1 VCO - triangle, sawtooth and square outs, Hz/v input, Oct/v input (very nice), Freq A in, Freq b in, PW Mod in. The pots are Pitch, PW/PWM,Freq Modulator A, Freq Modulator B. 1 LPF - signal in, signal out, and cutoff freq jacks. Peak and cutoff freq knobbies. 2 VCA - signal in, signal out, and control in jacks. Lp filter output level and intensity knobolas. 2 EGs - 1 is ADSR and the other Hold Decay Attack Release. Each has its own trig in, 2 positive outputs (1 lower than the other) and 1 inverted output. 1 Modulation Generator (LFO) - Trinagle, saw up, saw down, and square outputs. Freq and PWM inputs. Frequency, PW/PWM, and freq modulator potties. 1 Adding amplifier (mixer) - 3 inputs each with its own level controller and 1 output. 1 Voltage supply - 1 pot with a -5 to +5 range and an output for the voltage 1 Integrator (portamento generator) - Input and output jacks and 1 pot to control integration speed. 1 Inverter - Input and output jacks, simple as that. 1 Ring Modulator - 2 inputs and 1 output (yum yum. Much better than other ringmods I have heard like the 2600 ) 1 S&H - Clock in, Clock out, Sample source input, Voltage out jacks. 1 internal clock speed knober. 1 Noise generator - Pink and White noise out 1 Divider - Input, /2out , and /4 out jacks 1 Audio Amplifier - Trig out, Env out, input and output jacks. 1 level pot. This works much like the ms20 external sound processor as it outputs a trigger and env when an audio signal is present. No freq->volt convertor, bandpass filter or threshold level setting like on the ms20. 1 headphone amplifier - Input and out put jacks. 1 level pot. 1 Voltmeter - AC IN and DC IN jacks. What a cool little feature! Very ncie and handy for quick measuring. 1 Trig Switch - Trigger out jack and pushbutton to fire it. 4 1->2 multiples and 1 1->5 multiple As you can tell, this thing can do some pretty heavy processing. There are no hard wired connections, everything must be patched. So get those 1/4" patch cords ready! All in all one of the cooler synths I have had the pleasure of daling with. My studio is now fully equipped with 2 ms20s, 1 sq10 and 1 ms50. Bring on the ps line! The VCA with the low cut filter is suited toward audio signals only , while the other (MVCA or modulation VCA) can be used for any sort of signal (audio, cv, trig, etc..) >2 EGs - 1 is ADSR and the other Hold Decay Attack Release. The HDAR eg has a "delay trigger output" that puts out a trigger after the delay phase of the eg has completed. >1 Adding amplifier (mixer) - 3 inputs each with its own level controller and >1 output. This is not only a mixer for audio signals, but for control signals as well. Very cool.
