Synton made a couple of Vocoder models: 221 --- Big, 20-channel unit. Matrix-panel on the front allows analiser-synthesizer channel patching. Internal VCO, noise generator, Voiced/Unvoiced detection, 40+ LEDs for spectrum monitoring, etcetera. Also, it has a 50-pin connector on the back which provides CV in and out for each channel. I've got one, and I think it is superior to Sennheiser, Bode (Moog) and EMS. Original RRP: HFL 12000,- (US$ 7500.00) 222 --- 12-channels. Not very flexible, but they have a very musical sound. Original RRP: HFL 1000,- (US$ 625.00) 202 --- 10-channel low-budget version. No noise generator. Original RRP: HFL 800,- (US$ 500.00) SPX-216 ------- 14-channel with 3 preset patches. Carrier compression & distortion for richer sounds. Rear-connector for CV in/out. Original RRP 1600,- (US$ 1000.00) Synton went under in 1989, and all our vocoders have been hard to find since. Synton products were distributed by Big Briar. You may be able to get some more info from Bob Moog, or contact me if you have more questions. PLUG: We discovered some unused Syrinx-boards, and we are rebuilding them into a new box with no keyboard, just CV-in and audio-trigger and NO MIDI. They will have the original front-panels (red) with the touch-pads. There are two units that have not been spoken for. If anyone is interested to get one for HFL 2000,- (+/- US$ 1250.00) + shipping, please contact me. END PLUG Tweak those knobs! Marc
