It was build in the late fifties. It was based on a pulse wave generator and a filter bank (to change the timbre). The keyboard was pressure sensitive (they use a variable capacitor). This instruments is reviewed in MIT's Music Computer Journal. If you want more info, I can read it for you... The Ondioline is much like a Ondes Martenot with better timbral capabilities. The generator is a pulse vacuum tube generator. The timbre can be changed thanks to a filter bank (the pulse spectrum is very rich). The filter bank can be changed by switching capacitors and coils. The keyboard is pressure sensitive thanks to a variable capacitor. It is also sensitive to a lateral movement (for vibrato effects). Over a thousand of these were sold in the US for about $400 in the 50's. The problem was the low quality of some components of the industrial version. It needed to be tuned from time to time.
