There are NONE! That's the problem!! The standalone Akai is useless and the only good MIDI arps are built into synths, most or all of which are not being made any more. Offhand, I can think of.... Prophet 2000/2002 \ WAY cool arps; can layer polyrhythms and add rests! Prophet VS/VS Rack / Emax and its kin: \ Nifty features incl. "Cruz Control" wherein a fixed Emax SE, Emax II | time interval got divided into as many notes as you (keybds AND racks) / hold down; four quarters, five "fifths", etc.! Kawai M8000 Basic synchable unit, weird to use with piano keys Roland JP-6 Only syncs to trigger pulses Roland Juno-60 Only syncs to trigger pulses; needs MD-8 to send MIDI Roland U-20 Bog-stupid; can't sync to ANY external source! Oberheim Xk A few nice features; only syncs to trigger pulses Korg DW-8000 Syncs to MIDI but doesn't transmit notes over MIDI Kurzweil MIDIboard Very powerful, many features, went through several revs Kurzweil PCX88 (sp?) The MIDIBoard arpeggiator lives again!
