It's the story of the Minimoog. Ok, illustration at top left. Thats what the Wersi looks like. Picture it with 24 Keys. The front panel sports 52 count em, 52 buttons, actually they are the same type on the OB8, OBXa ect. with a smaller set like on the Prophet 5. Each button has a led inside. You have a choice of 17 different preset rhythms with 4 variations on each, and the ability to add fills and rolls . Next you pick an instrument ffrom the right side (smaller buttons) with 32 different instruments, like guitar, synth, bell, clava, strings, wah-wah pedal, and on and on. Next you play a drum pattern, and as you play the keys it plays an auto-accompaniment (spelling) with the drums , the you add cheezy bass guitar !! All of this is going on in stereo with the ability to pan the drums or instruments to either channel, the tempo is kept visible by a smaller set of leds in the upper right corner of the instrument. You can also program in your own drum patterns in real time or step mode. Now for the best part. I got a wersi with a Mod. In the middle of this contraption is a small silver switch (momentary contact type) and when you push it....viola you hear about 30 guys yelling HEY HEY HEY. Now does that get the award for cheeziest device around. If anybody wants a laugh I'll mail this thing to you. In a dark room with the drum patterns and instruments going it blinks each led as each part is played including all the drums. and its got a little string of light bulbs under the hood to illuminate the front panel, when your on stage.... I called Wersi International (I think it's made in Germany) and they referred me to a dealer about 20 miles from Phila. Will wonders never cease... (of course I ordered the manual) HEY HEY HEY larry
