Argh.. =) Thanks- AKAIK there are (3) XD5 OS versions: 1.0 - had OSC mute sysex problem 1.1 - fixes OSC mute, can reload original patches 1.2 - same as 1.2 with add'l demo sequence I don't know if you can reload default patches with 1.0. Does anyone know if Kawai still has >upgrades for this? > > (I suppose I could call and find out.. hm. =) ) Actually, I just did this...I sent Kawai email, asking how I go about getting an upgrade for mine (I've got v1.1). They (actually, some guy named Troy) wrote back, and said: "Call our service department at 1-800-421-2177 with your serial number. They can send you a new chip, you install it, send the old one back, and there is no charge!" Hope that helps someone. I'm not really sure if I gain anything by upgrading to the newest ROM, as the bug it fixes seems pretty esoteric. -jimg skoop @galt.com
