Super easy to use, and uh. I'm used to it. :) Did you find these plans in Hal Chamberlin's book? That is the basis for just about any usable MIDI circuit. The 6850 is programmed with two registers. You really need an external processor to use it. I think John Simonton once said he made a small thing with diodes and a clock to set the registers upon power up, but.. hehe :) I thinl it's cool that he did it, though! One of those things you always say can be done, and he actually DID it! I used to use the 6850 with a 6809 a lot, cause the 6809 has a 16bit register, the Chamberlin book uses a 6502, but any processor will work with it really easily. However, an 8031 sure is nice.
