Analogue Heaven is a high-readership, high-traffic list. As a result, chaos
on the list, whether it be lots of off-topic posts or out-and-out flamewars
can be extremely annoying to a lot of people. 

The general policy of the list is to have a published set of guidelines
which are flexibly enforced by the list's admins. This is a big job, and
interpretation often comes down to the two admins, with whom some people
may disagree. Accordingly, we've decided to expand this job a bit to include
"deputies" chosen from the list membership who are deputized to step in
and gently enforce the list guidelines. 

The list's admins are:

The deputies are:
    mark pulver (mark(at)midiwall.com)
    paul perry (pfperry(at)melbpc.org.au)
    david evans (dfevans(at)bbcr.uwaterloo.ca)

Problems subscribing/unsubscribing should be directed to the admins at 
analogue-owner(at)hyperreal.org. Disagreements with the guidelines or any
of the admins or deputies can be directed to any or all of the deputies.

For everyone's clarification, here are the guidelines for deputies:
- individuals who violate the guidelines should be contacted in private 
  email. mention your deputy role and provide a pointer to the AH web page.
  bcc: the deputies email alias.
- off-topic threads should be admonished publicly. simply point out why
  the thread is inappropriate and request that no one follow up. 
- individuals who continue to post on an admonished thread should be
  admonished in private email.
- contact the admin (analogue-owner(at)hyperreal.org) with respect to 
  individuals or threads that continue even after admonishment. they
  can be temporarily blocked.
- be polite and encourage people who have a problem with the guidelines
  themselves to discuss it with the admins/deputies
- mechanical problems with the list (subcription, bouncing) can be directed
  to the admins.
